'Water' Acrostic Poems

Last week we wrote some acrostic poems about water. We wrote each letter from the word 'water' down the page and added our ideas on this topic. Here are some of the poems the children wrote.

Water on the flower
At Winter it rains a lot
Today it was foggy
Evaporation of a puddle
Rainbows are made out of sun and rain
By Jordan

Water on the plant
At the beach I sit in the sun
Today I went to the sea
Evaporate
Rainbow in the sky

Thanks goodness it's Friday

A big thank you to the children and parents of Studio 1 for staying so calm during and after this afternoons shake. Everyone coped really well with even families of distressed children staying visibly calm (which I know is hard to do!). Children, you all did the right thing both in the library (getting under the tables) and afterwards (staying with Mrs Henderson until your families arrived) so well done to all of you. Mrs Henderson had to rush home after you had all gone to check on her dog Zoe who is about to have pups. She was very scared too but no pups yet. Have a good weekend everyone, see you on Monday.

Welcome Zoe

We are all very happy to have her in our class.  This morning Constable Karen came to talk to us about making good choices.  She showed us a movie about choices too. Karipa is our King of the Dice today! We read another chapter of 'James and the Giant Peach". We are really enjoying this story and are excited to find out what happens next!

'Rain' Senses Poems

We have been writing senses poems about 'rain'. We thought about what we see, feel, taste and touch when we think about rain. Here are some 'rain' poems that the children wrote.

I see water falling from the sky.
I hear water drops on the roof.
I feel cold and soggy.
I taste warm water.
by Kain

I see wet grass in the garden.
I hear raindrops on the roof.
I feel drips on my head.
I taste yummy water in my mouth.
